Are you thinking about taking your maternity photos at the Botanical Gardens here in Asheville? If so, I’d say it’s a brilliant idea.

There are a few things I like about taking maternity (or any) photos at the Botanical Gardens. First, the natural light there is excellent. I know exactly how it behaves at the latter part of the day and throughout the year. Second, lush greenery is abundant and beautiful for both the summer and fall colors. Third, there are various picturesque features like a bridge, which is always fun to incorporate into the session. Fourth, probably my favorite, is a sweet little creek running through the gardens. I love taking my clients to a particular spot on the creek towards the end of the session as the light is at its best there. The water and rocks in the creek are a fantastic addition to the photos.
